Speed Peeps app for iPhone and iPad

Evaluate speed, performance and reliability of your wifi mobile hotspots and internet connection by monitoring your own speeds as well as crowdsourcing other users’ speeds. Speed Peeps is an application that runs in the background when you want it to and will monitor your network connection continously, testing download speeds. Additionally, Speed Peeps crowd sources the speeds and allows data to be averaged across our user base, giving our users a great way to compare internet coverage in their area with other users. All wifi hotspot providers publish "coverage maps" that give consumers a very high level view of where they provide coverage. However, even within those coverage maps, there will be spots where coverage is spotty or unreliable. What does crowdsourced mean? Simply that data is collated with all users in a given area and averaged out so you can effectively research wifi providers in your area and see which wifi provider may be a good fit.
